Can I polish decal stripes?
Hey guys!
So cars are in winter hibernation. Our 2019 Shelby GT 350 has a bunch of scratches and the paint feels rough to the touch.
We just bought it this past May so I don't know much history other than it came from Arizona and must have been daily driven. Guessing that because it already has 17k miles.
I think the stripes are vinyl, but not sure. They are full of scratches as well.
I have a few compounds to use, but have had the best luck with Wolfgang Uber compound or a less harsh compound total swirl remover followed by finishing glaze.
Any help is appreciated!

Did a test area below drivers side window. It looked worse than what I could capture with my phone. Turned out great.

Gloss vinyl can be polished. Try the least aggressive polish first with a polishing pad. Matte decals are the ones not to be polished.

I believe mine are a gloss finish. Is there a way to know for sure?
I can use a 3" pad along with my Porter Cable?
Thank you.

Porter cable would be perfect. Doesn't matter what size pad. If it were me I would hit it with 3D Speed or 3D One.
Those are definitely vinyl. Your good to polish as Guz was saying.
Beautiful ride!

Really appreciate it!
I'm not familiar with 3D speed or 3D one. I'll have to research it.

No problem. Speed is made for everyday use where One is a compound.
Speed is so good that when the pandemic hit (causing the supply chain to take a hit) I freaked out and ordered 5 gallons (was wise if for nothing else a hedge against inflation).
You won't see me promote very many products. Both of these are so good they deserve it.

And Speed contains 3D's "Montan Wax".
Your paint will feel slicker that owl $hit after using it........
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

If you use a claybar be super careful around the edge of the stripes.
