Thoughts on this....
I never gave them permission to use my truck photo.

I posted my review of the product on the big river place..
I really don't care ...my thought was to ask them for a free bottle of product in return, my guess is they will just post someone else photo instead.

For me it would be "who cares". What is the harm? Nice looking truck and a job well done. It should be viewed as a compliment.

I'm with ya...kinda like an honor they picked my truck.
I made a living for 30+ years being a professional photographer.....just another one out the door is the way I look at it....

Then you should know all about photo rights, etc., wouldn't the community here be much less informed on these matters? I would have to believe there is fine print at Amazon that once you post a photo in a review there you have ceded the rights to them, and possibly the finer print allows the owner of the product being reviewed to use the photo.
I'm just surprised if you were a pro photog that you apparently didn't think about this before you uploaded a pic. After all, one of the forum rules here is:
14. All messages posted to AutogeekOnline become the property of Autogeek.net.
I don't find anything in the rules here about photos uploaded to the gallery (if the gallery still works); I know at MOL they used to watermark the pictures you uploaded, which I presume meant they belonged to them after that, although I don't find anything in their rules about that either...but I'm not even sure they have a gallery over there anymore, it looks like they changed their software.

Go re read my post!
I know all about photo rights man.....don't be insulting to me telling me "I didn't think"
I could give 2 chits personally it's a pic of a black truck.
I'm asking "OTHERS" their opinions....and now I have your opinion...no more....no less...

Re: Cerakote using my truck photo
As a photog I can say that it's illegal and copyright infringement even if they took it from social media. Anyone using an image they didn't personally take without a signed release and using that image to garner revenue or sales is in violation. Personally, I would contact them and be professional, of course but either demand some form of compensation and sign off on it in some way.
I tag most of my images online in various ways and have caught several, usually overseas businesses, using them.
2019 Pearl White Accord 2.0T Touring (mine)
2023 Snowflake Pearl White CX-30 Turbo Premium Plus(wife)
2010 Urban Platinum Metallic CRV EX-L & 2014 Mica Black Metallic Toyota Corolla S (kids)

Thanks for the post....in most cases..."in the past" I would have....in this case...especially being retired and it's only a snap shot to me....I don't really. care.
I have found in the past....if I addressed the matter, all they will do is pull the photo then it's pretty much a done deal.
For what it's worth

I knew there was a reason I stopped coming to this forum. Thanks for reminding me!
