hey guys! im not sure what is on the plastic door card of this Audi but so far I have tried a steamer, citrus apc, wd 40, iso alcohol and nothing has changed. it seems to look like paint but possibly tar as well? what can I do or what do I need to do in order to remove this ?
thanks!

Re: mystery removal
Is it sticky, oily, dry to the touch, or what?
Knowing that might help generate some possible answers
In the second picture has it run down and onto a bottom horizontal surface that is relatively hidden in case you need to experiment?

Re: mystery removal
It looks to me like nothing is on that panel. There was something... and whatever it was, has left behind some stains that are "in", not "on", the panel.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think those stains are coming out.

Re: mystery removal
It is dry to the touch , if I run my hand over it I don’t feel any difference . If I use goo gone though I noticed white dots appear on the affected area as if the glue or wtv it is , has started taking effect? But I’ve been going at it and haven’t seen much or any change.

With the products he already tried you are probably correct, what’s left isn’t coming off
If he has a hidden area down under as I asked earlier I think I would see what a magic eraser used VERY GENTLY with plenty of liquid would do
Or leave it as it is now and try something to minimize the appearance
I’m not sure I would if I would even try a magic eraser on that top section except as an absolute last resort
I’ve never tried anything like Solution Finish on an interior surface but who knows

I never tried cleaning anything automotive with methyl alcohol so you are on your own on this one
I would think if there were any oils left behind in the stains it would help but no telling how it would react on vinyl and plastic
All you can do is find an inconspicuous spot and try applying it to a tiny area with a Q Tip or something to see what happens
Like so many other processes in auto detailing, a test spot is your best friend

Re: mystery removal
Could require a possible replacement of the whole door panel. If a good APC is not touching it.
