To IronX or not?
At 14 months with CQuartz Lite on my wife’s tuxedo black Navigator. Seems to still be pretty good beading but don’t know how to quantify where it is in it’s life cycle. Considering spraying it down with IronX but not sure after thinking about it further. Don’t want to waste my product if it’s close to being done.
Thlughts? What would you do?

You say it still has "pretty good beading" so if your okay with its performance and you don't want to waste iron x, then I think the answer is clear.

Why not try it on the hood or half the hood and see what comes of it. Next case ya iron x the whole hood and call it a day. If that idea turns to shat then well i think ya found out how much life it had left..

Does a simple iron decon rejuvenate coatings much?

Re: To IronX or not?
I would do a full decon at least once a year. Actually I would do it quarterly.
At a minimum using an iron remover.
For a full decon
Pre-Foam with CarPro Lift
Rinse
Pre-Foam with CarPro Descale
Wash with CarPro Reset
Rinse
Iron Remover
Final Rinse
Top up if desired
This will deep clean the coating. Essentially a 3 pH wash.

Thanks for this excellent discription of a full decon for coated vehicles.
Are there any other products out there that are similar to carpro descale? I ask because i have some bh touchless on the way to try out. I was going to try that out with iron remover as a decon wash...unless im not thinking right.
Don't want to keep buying more products if I don't need to. Do you have way more knowledge than I do when it comes to detailing

As long as it’s an acidic wash. That’s what descale is.

I do not. It’s been like 20 years since I used any griot’s wash.

Re: To IronX or not?
Descale seems to be backordered where I usually order. Anywhere have it in stock?
