Can’t get these stripes off my tires - help please!
Hi. I just got a new motorcycle and am prepping it for a ceramic coating.
I noticed on the tires there are some green rings. I presumed they were paint like the dots that I have already removed easily with some rubbing alcohol.
I have tried the following on these rings with no progress whatsoever :
rubbing alcohol , brake cleaner, acetone, goo gone, goof off, mineral spirits, tarminator and brake cleaner.
it’s not ‘in’ the rubber as a dremel with a sanding cylinder and it came right off. Obviously this would leave rings from sanding the rubber.. ahh.
any suggestions? I’m quite frustrated with this now. Thanks.

i have used tarminator removing any paint (dots)/markers off tires. i also use it to clean my tuf shine tire brush where anything else doesn't work to completely clean it. worth a try...

I actually just tried this with some I had... no luck. Also tried brake cleaner - nothing.

I’ve used a brass bristle toothbrush with degreaser to remove paint dots. Just work gently.

I think your only recourse left is the sand them off and then try to broadly feather it out
And obviously the other option is just to replace the tire, I know how something like this can really eat at you, so I might spring for the extra hundred dollars to swap it out

Lean the bike over on a few corners and they’ll wear off pretty quickly. They’re far from permanent.

Those are used by manufacturer to identify a production run, model, size, etc though what the colored lines actually mean varies by manufacturer. Same with the colored dots that might identify various details of tire production. The lines will wear off fairly quickly with use though, with your lines on the edge, it may take a little more spirited driving.

Go ride, drag some knees and it will be gone quickly. Don’t leave chicken strips on those edges! Have fun and be safe riding.

Last resort lay the bike on a big angle and do a burnout. lol Removes rubber fast for me.
