@driverman1 was correct, I did not have the cartridges seated properly, because I didn't initially use the wire rings.
Now reads "0" as expected.
Probably burned $20 of resin trying to take this picture
That's great! I can't live without DI water lol. I often am needing to wash in the sun, so it's a must.

I think you will enjoy it, I have 2 black cars. The resin is pricey, so that’s why I drain the water out after I use it

Honestly I am surprised that's all it lowered the value to...your new value is what my city water was BEFORE a new full-home softener system. Now with the softener(no RO, which is what the CR should be, right?) our value, last checked, was 17....instantly noticed the improvement in water quality. That said, our sales rep said the RO water will take that to 2 or less, making it perfect for the final rinsing. Much like the CR systems are tailored towards. I personally would look at a softener system so the water entering the CR is already reduced hardness. Your CR filters will last much longer that way and you will pay yourself back over the years in filter money not spent.
