Need Some Advice on Partners and Their Jewelry and Stuff
I may get my head handed to me but here goes
Has anyone ever found a subtle, gentle, non-confrontational way to talk to their significant other about the damage that fingernails and jewelry do to cars?
Every time my wife gets in to either vehicle it's a symphony of rings, fingernails, watches, and other stuff dragging on the arm rest, the pull handles, the console when she clicks the seatbelt, etc
I just wince every time she does it and have done it obviously enough at times that she KNOWS why I am doing it and she says "sorry" but her habits don't change
I have had her come around when I am polishing and I will take the opportunity to grab an applicator and go after the door handle recesses and I mumble something about fingernails vs paint but it seems to go over her head
I will be married 44 years next month and no amount of scratches or interior dings is worth a fight but there has GOT to be someone out there that has solved this dilemma
Fanks...

If you don't want to approach the situation what about some clear ppf for the door handle area??

That's certainly a solution for the door handle recess
Thanks

Just bite the bullet Mikey, or you might not have anything to polish/clean.

Hmm I'm a watch guy and I do have rings but never had a situation where they endangered the surfaces of my cars.I dont even think about it. I guess I'm just naturally super careful
As for your wife, I'd just compliment her on her jewelry but then just gently ask her to be super careful with it around the car. If you take a gentle approach I doubt she would get offended.
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

You are probably right, a direct but gentle discussion
I am sure I have annoying quirks as well

Dedicated "Car Gloves".
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
