Wheel brush to clean gloss black wheels

    Hi everyone

Looking for wheel brush recommendations to clean gloss black wheels.

Wondering if the EZ Detail brush is safe to use?

Or is it better to use something like Wheel Woolies?

Not sure if there is one that is safer to use or can minimise scratches for this particular wheel surface.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Wheel brush to clean gloss black wheels

My trail boss has high gloss black wheels and I treat them no different then the painted surfaces

I used a dedicated microfiber mitt with the contact wash...

I would go with the wheel Woolies with a lot of lubricant.

I primarily use the Mother’s Wheel brush and use that most on my painted rims. I also have the Microfiber Madness Incredibrush Flat and Wheel Mitt, which I use periodically for the back side of the rims. I usually use Meguiar’s Non-Acid Wash in an IK Foamer for cleaner or whatever wash I’m using.

I used the Daytona speed master brush on my Corvette C7 gloss black wheels, three years later they still looked fine.

That's what I would do too. I'd be very hesitant using any brush on gloss black wheels. In fact, I'm hesitant to use a brush on ANY nice wheel.

I might use Griot”s three finger mitts
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

Are you planning to only use the brush on the inner barrel? If so both options will work. You won’t see any scratching.

For the faces a mitt would be a better option if they are gloss black.

These….. that small mitt is awesome for the faces, gets into most crevices. Woolies for the barrel.

I would also recommend the WorkStuff albino white brush. It’s soft as heck and haven’t scratched my satin black wheels.
