Anyone top Griots Spray ceramic with Caranuba?
Hi All,
I am a big fan of the Griots 3 in 1 spray ceramic in terms of durability and protection. What i am curious about is weather anyone has topped this with a carnuba wax for looks. I have a bottle of unopened Meguiars gold glass caranuba at home.

seems like a waste to me....carnauba is going to work best as a base, I have a feeling it won't even bond to the 3 in 1

Its certainly not going to harm the paint. I say go for it. Try it out on the trunk lid or something. Monitor its progress. If it holds up then apply it to the rest of the vehicle.

I might just apply it as my protectant layer and do the Griots later. its not something i plan to regularly use, but man i love the look of carnuba on a freshly polished car.

Are you in a state that has to deal with winter and salt/brine?

Virginia, so ... Maybe? I would do a strip wash in a month and put the ceramic on regardless. I just want the car to look as good as possible for a week or two.

Ooh ok gotcha. If the wax is that temporary then do as you like. Would have suggested something different than carnuba if your trying to last through winter.
No interest in a ceramic coating?
Since your going through the whole buffing process lol

I have interest but dont really have the time at the moment, or a garage i can park it in overnight to cure. The griots has typically lasted about 6 months for me, and i suspect that will be much longer with some maintenance use of their ceramic speed shine. Hoping to buy a house in the spring, that should get me to a better situation.

Oh....I thought you already had the 3 in 1 on the paint...
See how we are going into Winter, I would do a 2 coat application of 3 in 1 at a 24 hour interval to get through Winter.
Do a strip wash(possible polish) in Spring and then apply the carnauba

If you’re after just the most gloss as possible, you might look at P&S DreamMaker. It’s a newer product, but I’ve heard amazing things about it. It’s on my list to try as a topper in the spring.
