Coating suggestion for new car graphics
Have a First Edition Maverick on order. Looks to be coming early ‘22 with the news that came out today. Already instructed dealer no prep/detailing. My question is about what to do with the decals that come on this model…
should I use the coating I’m using for the rest of the vehicle (probably cquk 3.0) or is there a vinyl decal special coating I should try.

Gyeon offers the "Q2 PPF" and GTechniq offers the "HALO" Flexible Film Coating. These are perfect for wraps.

I will second the above. I did my Mustang with Gtechniq Halo almost a year ago. Very easy to apply and good results.

Re: Coating suggestion for new car graphics
If you had PPF on the truck then I might suggest a special coating for PPF such as those mentioned above. But for OEM vinyl graphics, I would just go with your plan of CQuartz UK 3.0 as it has been used for years over vinyl decals such as the large ones found on Dodge Challenger/Chargers among others. There are tons of coatings out there, but CQuartz is still proven to be near the top for overall protection. Apply SiC over the top of you want a slicker coating and it supposedly also give CQuartz a little better water spot protection.

Agreed… I had a Camaro that had full body stripes, across the hood, the top, iand trunk, CQUK worked fine for five years…once a year, car kept outside.

You could use CQUK 3.0 without any issues. If you are looking for a dedicated product you could invest in Cquartz Skin which works great on vinyls and PPF.
Either option will give the vinyls a richer appearance. I have a review on skin if you search on here.

Thanks Guz. Just went and read that thread. Plan was to use CQUK 3.0 (or whatever is best early next year when it arrives). I guess the question I should have asked is: what does using a product like Skin get me over using the CQUK?

Are you thinking of buying 2 coatings, one for paint and one for decals? I think the paint coating will also work for the decals, not sure the reverse is true in the sense of getting as much durability on the paint with a PPF focused coating.

We got our first Maverick in last week at my dealership.
I have to say it is a pretty sharp little truck.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
