I probably should've mentioned that, I always wiped down with either IPA or carpro eraser.

I've used graphite powder on wiper blades before, some OEM blades come with a coating brand new. I usually do it after reconditioning the blades. I just put some on my thumb and forefinger and slide the blade up and down till it's totally covered.

A wipe-down of the blades with alcohol will clean the gunk from them.

Graphite powder is used by locksmiths, it lubricates the internals of locks without leaving a sticky residue like a liquid or paste lubricant. You don't want to clog up the internals of your locks with dust or dirt. It doesn't leave any noticeable residue on your windshield either, it eventually just wears off.
