    4x4 trails ''pinstripes'' Leave em?

The paint on my F-150 is (was) in pretty good shape. I bought it second hand from a family friend who rarely used it. One of my first trips was down unimproved roads in Big Bend National Park. I now have light scratches from mesquite and God knows what else. They extend down the entire side of the vehicle. Again they are barely noticeable unless in direct sunlight. Part of me wants to leave them as badges of being an off road vehicle, but part of me wants to keep it looking pristine.

Would leaving them hurt anything? Could they be taken out by hand or will I need a polisher?

I took a couple but it is hard to see them. Of course when I want to show a defect they don't show up. I'll try again when the sun is lower.

I have pinstrips on my truck. Being I live in the desert and offroad it frequent, I leave them till I get sick of them. I might just use an AIO to get most of the RIDS and pin striping. In the end it's a truck. I just keep it washed, waxed, and clean inside. There's only so much Clear coat, and If you remove the scratches made by offroad every time, you won't have much clear coat left pretty quick.

Old post but this had me thinking. The struggle is real when you have a truck that actually sees off road use, but you're also a bit OCD about keeping your car clean. Constant battle.
