Last step. Cut with Sonax Perfect Finish

I did a paint correction on a old Lexus in great shape using SPF as my product. With a yellow rupes pad.
    Looks great.
If I use the same set up. SPF and a yellow pad. Can I achieve a better finish using a “very minimal pressure” approach. Basically a additional step with the same product and pad with less pressure on the yellow pad. Thank

Nothing that you're really going to notice.

If you're after refining it a bit more use a rupes white pad with menzerna 3800. Still the gains will be minimal.

I would switch to the Rupes White Finishing Foam Pads.

Sonax Perfect Finish is an excellent product. I would try the finishing foam pads first before purchasing another product. Like 98CayenneTA stated - gains will be minimal.

So I’m guessing your saying the added step. Most likely won’t be worth. ( pre ceramic coating on a pearl white 97 Lexus with 90k miles and very clean.
Thanks for all the advice from all.

Just be sure to panel wipe or IPA before coating to remove any polishing oils.

Theoretically, and assuming everything else remains the same... Yes.

It has always been a best practice of mine to use minimal pressure for the final passes of the final polishing step regardless of what tool, pad and product is used.

    Realistically... Maybe, maybe not.

Will any improvement be discernable? How critical is your eye? You may see an improvement that another may not, or vice versa.

A test spot will provide the answer.

That said, and like others have shared, any improvement will likely be very minimal, if any at all. And one final thought... Color will play a significant role.

I do agree with the improvement being minimal however, when you step back and view the entire car rather than a side by side panel..the improvement can sometimes be significant. This is called jeweling and is necessary to some.
