Re: Tire dressing
I have been using DURAGLOSS #253 for years now. I think it provides just the right look. And most important, no sling off.

Have you considered this as an alternative, much cheaper, and the absolute best fun to apply. Consistency changes depending on the dilution. I like to apply it at least once a month, when possible.
There is a guy near where I live who has a Toyota Hilux RuggedX with the glossiest tyres I've ever seen, I need to catch him and find out what he uses, maybe get a picture of them.

I'm not a fan of high gloss tyres either. But I like the look I get with 303 Aerospace Protectant. I usually spray it on the applicator, wipe on, leave it to absorb for 10 minutes or so, then wipe off any excess. The below shot is from when I put it on my Mum's Qashqai. These were new tyres as well.

Re: Tire dressing
Another choice you would have is Megs HYPERDRESSING. Water based. And you can dilute to suit your level of shine.

Poor boys World Tire Dressing. Cut it 50/50 and you get just get a nice black without the high gloss.

My favorites are Onyx, OG and Perl in that order.
I might have to give Onyx a try, I do like some of their other products.

I like to use the Blackfire Multi-Surface Dressing Concentrate. You can control the level of gloss depending how you dilute it.
