    Alternative to OPC?

It seems that OPC is still considered the best, most safe overall APC on the market. I have some Meguiar's D107 on hand, which is fine, but looking for something like OPC that claims to be much more safe, for users and environment that is readily available. Or should I just keep ordering OPC?

    Re: Alternative to OPC?

Since joining AG back in Feb of 2012, THIS is the single product I continually buy when I'm running low on it. Sure, I've bought Purple Power but use that around the house and sometimes just to see how it compares to "Alien Kleen" for car cleaning duties and while PP @1:1 is good and less expensive, Alien Kleen @3:1 just does a better job.

For whatever reason this is ONE product I'll be buying as long as it's being madeAlternative to OPC?Alternative to OPC?

Thanks! I'm going to continue to use it. It's one of those products you always hear positive things about.

Is it too late to suggest alternatives?
    If not:

•Here are couple that come to mind:
    -McKee's 37 Hi-Intensity APC Plus
    -Meguiar's D101 All Purpose Cleaner

•And for those “sickening” detail jobs:
-Spray Nine Heavy Duty Cleaner +De-
    greaser +Disinfectant

    Re: Alternative to OPC?

Thanks! Is the Megiuars D101 as "safe" as the OPC? For some reason, probably their marketing, I associate OPC as more eco friendly and overall safer on more surfaces. Hard to say I guess....

pH wise, OPC is closer to neutral than D101 (11.5 vs 13)

    IMO:
    •Per their below SDSes:
-Both contain pretty much the same ingredients.
-Both fail in the “eco-friendly” category.

I have used quite a few over the years, and use 3D YELLOW DEGREASER. Primary use is for the felt fender wheels and tires. It is safe and just works.

    Re: Alternative to OPC?

Just about any APC can be considered pH neutral if they are diluted enough. Cleaners are considered pH neutral if they are in the pH range of 6 to 8. Meguiars D101 is an excellent APC but it is very alkaline in concentrate. It has a pH of 13 and diluted 10:1 the pH goes down to 11.95. That is still a strong cleaner and very effective but it may not be safe for certain delicate interior surfaces.
Simple Green is a safe, pH neutral cleaner that works very well for general dust, scuffs and dirt. In concentrate, it has a pH range of 8.5-9.2. Diluted 10:1 the pH goes down to 7.95 if we assume an original value of 9.0.
Bob mentioned Spray Nine and that is an excellent cleaner that also kills the COVID virus. The pH range is 12-12.8. After my car was destroyed in the wreck my company gave me a rental from Enterprise. They had a sign that said they "cleaned" and "disinfected" the surfaces with Clorox wipes. I saw food stains all over the console and the radio dial. That car got a full cleaning with straight Spray Nine and I did not care one bit about being pH neutral.
I believe in treating everybody with respect, and clean cars. That’s what I believe in.

    Re: Alternative to OPC?

It appears OPC is known for its cleaning ability that doesn’t solely come from its high pH which is only around 11.
