Quick tip regarding wet/dry vacuum filters

Thanks for the tip, Eldo.
I've been doing the same thing for years, using "Plus Size" Women's "Knee Highs", kinda a much shorter version of ladies stockings. You're right in that it drastically reduces filter cleaning intervals as well as the mess. I have to check these out and see how they compare.
Avoiding shopping in the "Plus Size" section of the ladies lingerie department would be a bonus!

Ridgid does sell dust bags which act as a prefilter but they're much more expensive. Maybe they didn't want to cut into their filter sales?

I'll have to look into this for the smaller Ridgid filter.

I use bags in combination with the green Ridgid HEPA filter on my 4gal 5hp, so my filter stays clean very easily. But maybe I'll try this out once I use the rest of them up. Cool tip!

What do you mean exactly? They’re all washable.. Well you don’t really “wash” them, you just rinse them with water.

The only thing I don’t like about my Cleanstream Hepa filter is that it says not to use high powered air on it because it might remove an important layer off of it. But otherwise you can rinse and blow the filters clean.

Like a K&N is made to be washed and re-used, others are one time use.

Picked up some of these for the smaller Ridgid filter on my WD4070. These were advertised as 4.5 x 6". They were more like 4 x 7.5" but they seem to fit. It was 30 for 12.99 but were temporarily discounted to 10.39. there was some stretching at the top to get enough slack to pull it down the sides. A bit like putting on a fitted bed sheet.
