    Door sill plates anyone?

Anyone adding aftermarket door sill plates for protection? If so, is that tape/glue strong enough to hold them tight enough in place so they don't get pulled up by a quick/ careless entry/exit? Also, I don't know the proper name - could still be sills(?) but the plastic above the door sill (on driver's side) is getting scuffed up when the car is at my parking garage. Needless to say, this is a wear area, so scuffs are inevitable, but at this rate, with the ways those guys jump in and out of the cars, it won't look so nice in an all too short period of time.

I put some nice eBay units on the wife's CX-5 and simply used the double sided tape that came with them. It's fine.

    Another option is using PPF.

    Agreed.

Bob, I added these to my wife's Wrangler maybe 5 years ago(?).

I was curious about the tape strength as well, and a few days later I tried to lift one up. No dice. Those things aren't coming off without some serious prying.

Just make sure your sills are clean and wax-free, and go for it.

Thanks all. Just to double back a bit. Would PPF work for the plastic area above the sills, which almost always get scuffed?

No. PPF won't adhere to those in an attractive or functional fashion. I'm not sure if Mazda aftermarket supports a replacement sill plate for that area.

I agree with FUNX650. I used some mylar on my door sills.

You can use some 3m adhesive tape. Prep is the biggest key here. Also consider some adhesion promotor to help make it stick better to the plastic sill.
