Re: How to clean microfiber towels when not a full load?
Don’t sleep on 3D Towel Kleen.
I use it to soak my used pads while polishing, and they come out of the soak looking new.

Back to the original question... "How to clean microfiber towels when not a full load?"
Many times if I have only a few towels and I want to clean them before waiting for a full laundry load, I'll just wash them by hand in the sink, or in a bucket, with whatever detergent I would normally use if doing them in the washing machine.

Re: How to clean microfiber towels when not a full load?
I'm always washing glass towels by hand in my utility sink because they have to be separate from my load of other MFs which is larger.
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

I’ve never seen a sanitary cycle on a washing machine. Kind of interesting. I’m assuming it is just a hot wash.

No it heats the water hotter than that depending on how soiled you say the load is.
Common on LG washers.
