Wouldn't we want to do that the other way around? From all I've read microfibers grab more and heat more, so wouldn't the gear driven be better for it?

Its the short nap (low profile) purple foamed wool one I was looking at made for DAs.

I was reading this and figured the purple foamed wool might be best:

Gear driven (Flex 3401/XCE/Rupes Mille) do not work well with microfiber pads and are not recommended.

    Way too grabby.

Ah, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I have a GG9, so either pad will do well from all I've read (the low profile PFW or regular MF)...?

I'd go with Meguiars MF cutting pad for sure.

I can get a half price deal on Meguiars Xtra Cut microfiber pads, think they will be to harsh for this car?

Either the Meguiar’s or lake country microfiber pads will be fine. Don’t over think it.

You could even get the Rupes blue wool pads

Selection up here is hard as many places don't stock anything, prices are always high, and shipping rates are stupid high.

Re: 2017 Kia Forte, hard or soft paint?

Well, now I'm not so sure why I'm doing this, lol...

I showed my mom her car and the test spots on the ROOF (I had done the WHOLE roof by this time trying different things as you can see in the pics above,) so she could see the comparison to the hood and rest of the car I haven't done yet. (I just said to look at the roof and the hood and see the difference.)
She then ran her hand across the hood and only looking at it said it looked and felt great, and thought it was amazing what I was doing :/ lol... (bless her heart eh?!)

I know she is getting older (she is in her mid 70's) but I thought her eyes where still decent lol... I dunno...
