Do toppers extend the life of a coating?

Contemplating toppers. Do they actually extend the life of coatings? For instance, if you were to use Reload every month, would you stretch CQUK from two years to three?

I’d say the claim of 2 years is counting on you using toppers. If you don’t it might not quite get to 2 years but all depends on how you wash the car.

IMO, definitely don’t top with Reload. Use Elixir instead, maybe once a month, much better product.

    •IMO:
    -Scheduled, routine maintenance, washing
and drying sessions is foremost in assuring
that the Coating continues to stay viable—
at least to its advertised expected life-span.

    • “Toppers”:
-Once you have applied Waxes or Sealants, do
you wait until they have reached their expected
    expiration date to replace/renew them?

-Or do you, after every washing/drying event
(or, at least occasionally) “touch them up’
before they reach their expiration dates?

    -If you ‘touched-them-up’/used “toppers”...
were there any noticeable extension of these
    LSPs’ lives?

•Keeping the above scenarios in mind:
-I can only suggest that you “touch-up”
Coatings just as you have other LSPs in
    the past. For Science.

When it comes to “toppers”...I may not
be on the same wavelength as other AGO
    forum members.

But to a certain degree I call the
    above kind of touching-up:
    “extending” the life of Coatings.

Same goes for other types of LSPs as well.

UK does not just die off at 2 years. It has the potential to go on longer than that. I went 2 years without toppers on UK and TiO2 and both still had life that could go on longer. There are just too many factors to take consider when it comes to durability. The key is not letting the coating get too contaminated by not caring for it.

I was hoping you’d chime in. I am going to see how long I get out of Lite without toppers, at least that’s the plan.

Btw, How long was it you got out of lite without toppers.

Around a year with no toppers in a relatively harsh environment.
