Re: CarPro Perl on Interior Trim Issues

Ive never used it at 5:1, I use it at 3:1 usually and like PaulMys does I usually wipe with a dry towel to remove excess. Hope you figure it out

I used P&S Xpress Interior Cleaner. Followed the instructions and went over it with a damp microfiber. waited for the trim to completely dry. saw a lot of people had good luck with PERL so not sure what my issue is.
Apply P&S, wipe and then wipe again with damp cloth.

I felt it was hard to get the P&S off so i tried it 1:1 with distilled as noted in instructions.

    I’m betting it’s the P&S residue.

I don't have to use the P&S cleaner every time though right? I can just use a dry microfiber to get the dust off and apply another coat of PERL to try to "fix" it? this time spraying it on a microfiber and then on the trim.

Re: CarPro Perl on Interior Trim Issues

On my wife's 2019 Rav4 (lots of black trim outside), Perl will look streaky after some weather hits it. I haven't used it on the inside of my cars before. Under the hood and on the shaker seal of my Mach 1, it hasn't shown any streaks that I've noticed. I'm use it diluted 50/50. I figured the next time I apply it on trim outside, I'll use less. I'm kinda thinking in my case, I may have put it on too heavy on my wife's car.

Yea I think I might have put it on too heavy too. I wonder if going back with a dry microfiber to pick up any excess after initially applying would help.

You could always follow up with a damp towel and see if it helps to level it.

Next time spray into your microfiber towel or applicator and apply it. Come back with a second one to level it out.

Re: CarPro Perl on Interior Trim Issues

I had exactly the same issues, we have a black interior in my wife’s car and I used a 5:1 ratio. I sprayed it on a microfiber towel and it came out with “splotches” all over. It looked horrible. I used a wet towel to level it out and fixed it. Looks good now

If you wanna remove old layer you can clean but i would just top. I use an interior QD to maintain myself.
