    Re: AWE Chrome Tip Cleaning

I have an AWE exhaust on my Camaro and just ordered p21s polishing soap. I’ll report back after cleaning.

AWE’s tip tonic looks like a polish. Probably a cleaner polish with no abrasives.

    IMO:
No! Those procedures are way too rough
    for decorative chrome components that
    have a film-layer that’s only on a few
    microns thick.

    Anyway:
I thought that using abrasives on
AWE chrome tips was a “no-no”...

    •As to the aforementioned (cleaning)/pitting:
-After thoroughly cleaning the tips with the
previously mentioned P21S product, apply the
Collinite #850: it contains morpholine—a rust
inhibitor. (Keep in mind that this is only a
    stop-gap measure.)

-The true remedy for the existing pitting will be
    accomplished through a re-chroming process.
Or a new set of tips.

    AWE Chrome Tip Cleaning

Tried out the P21S and they cleaned up a bit, but largely still the same. Waiting to get the Collinite tomorrow and will try that. iCloud

I used Weiman's Stainless Steel cleaner spray on my stainless steel tips. Don't see why it wouldn't work on chrome.

    Re: AWE Chrome Tip Cleaning

I treat my tips the same as my paint, so a polish or compound if needed followed by protection.

The key is wiping them clean often and not letting the soot build up and cook on. I mist mine with a detail spray and a quick wipe almost daily. Yes I'm insane but literally takes 30 seconds.

    Re: AWE Chrome Tip Cleaning

This might sound crude but what about a little laquer thinner on a rag .
It should wipe clean with a couple swipes. I've done this on my Borla stainless steel tips and it works.
We are talking about the inside right?

Hi All! I have AWE exhaust on my Audi and historically I could get the tips looking like new with the recommended Palmolive cleaning. Last spring that didn’t work so I used WD-40 to get them looking new. Now today I’m detailing my car and neither work. Apparently they’re coated with something so AWE doesn’t recommend polishes of any sort. Any recommendations?

So finally the P21s polishin soap came in and polished tips today. Looks like they weren’t cared for well as their was some pitting. Looks night and day better.

Different sides but post to see difference

P21s or Pinnacle exhaust cleaner should handle it

    Re: AWE Chrome Tip Cleaning

I just bought new to me tips, low mileage and cleaned em up. Then added two coats of Dlux, we’ll see how long it lasts.
