2021 Jeep Gladiator Plastic fenders/bumpers/top etc

Hello all, been lurking and reading and have a question or two that I am hoping you guys and gals can help me with.

I have had my gladiator just a week and before that it sat out on the dealers lot for a while (garaged now). Its got all the "lovely" plastic fenders/bumpers and of course the hard top and protecting/keeping them from fading are my main concerns.

I have order some Cpro Dlux as well as some 303 both seem highly recommended.

My thought was clean all plastic bits with a good ph balance wash, then use Cpro Dlux. Then as I wash/wax/polish etc the vehicle regularly after wards use the 303 as a "touch up/extra protection" for the plastic bits.

    1. Is that a good idea to cover the Dlux with 303 for maintenance then once a year or so use the Dlux again? Concern is may not "bond" and be streaky or ruin the color etc?

    2. Should I use something like WETS before the Dlux then go with the above idea?

Ideally I would put something that is simple for your DIY detailer to put on a "protectant" then have a maintenance product until the need arises for the "protectant" again.

Thanks for your time in advance!

You could use 303 but it doesn't last long on the outside from the get go. And DLUX will shed it sooner. It won't hurt to use it. You could get away with just maintaining with a ceramic maintenance product as well.

And no you don't want to use something like WETS prior to applying DLUX. DLUX needs a clean surface. IT is a good idea to reapply it yearly to restore the look as it fades over time.

    Thank you.

Is cleaning with a ph balance car wash enough or should I use a "stronger/different" method before applying Dlux?

    According to Carpro....

    Preparation for plastic:

Make sure the surface is cool and dry. (Do not apply to hot surfaces or in direct sun.)

Scrub surface with an all purpose cleaner and microfiber towel.

Rinse while agitating with microfiber towel to remove all residue from APC.

    Dry surface.

Wipe surface with CARPRO Eraser, wipe dry, and then allow plastic to evaporate 20 minutes before applying.

Yeah i’m doing some black plastic on a Rav4 this week.

Washed with an Alkaline soap(Mckee’s coating prep wash)

Cleaned with APC and a detail brush to also get into the nooks.

    Followed with Eraser.

Will clean one more time and then coat.

Curious, what do you like to use for APC and Eraser, Carpro?

    Thanks.

Was reviewing the instructions on the car pro website and they mention

(We do not recommend ceramic on brand new textured plastic)

Does anyone know how long one should wait before it’s not concerned brand new?
