Black plastic trim

I purchased a new Subaru Forrester that has black plastic trim all around the bottom. Do you all put anything on this trim to protect it and keep it looking new?

Carpro Dlux or Gyeon Trim will keep it looking good for a while.

I agree with BSoares. I have not used Gyeon, but I have used Dlux and is very long lasting.

Actually I just bought the Dlux as well as the Griots Garage's Ceramic Wipes almost as a comparison as well as ease of use - not that Dlux is any way difficult to apply.

Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant (WETS) is also an outstanding trim product.

I’m actually testing WETS and blackfire tire and trim sealant on my windshield wiper blades since I really like both of them.

I applied wets to one side of the blade and Blackfire to the other side of the blade, it’s only been since Sunday but they’re both holding up very well as they should.

I took pics before and after, unfortunately the lighting was horrible so the pics really don’t show much.

I’ll post as once they start showing a difference!

I’ll be using Cerakote trim wipes on Monday, black cladding on Rav4.

They are the one’s who makes Griots trim wipes and if Griots is willing to put their name one it (Griots prides them selves on making their own chemicals) I gotta believe it’s been thoroughly tested.

Also gotta believe if it’ll hold up to the heat of an AR gotta last on trim.

Note: last part a joke. Same company but not same coating...

My Mustang has the lower skirts in black plastic. I started out dressing them with 303 after each wash. Perhaps excessive, but I enjoyed the process.



I then started using Reload on them, offering better durability and longevity.





I then bit the bullet and coated them with DLUX.







The pics don't do the result justice.

DLUX has up to 12 months durability, Reload 3-6 months and 303 2 - 3 washes.

I use P21S Polishing Soap every now and then. The tips are wiped over with Megs Last Touch after each wash.
