Well in the detailing area, yes. To each his own.
I can charge $100 to get a riding lawnmower or snow blower running with almost zero effort in less than an hour in my neck of the woods.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Re: He offered to fly me to Pittsburgh :)
This thread exposes the void in the market for the average consumer to know where to look for an experienced detailer. They have a need and hopefully the knowledge that good work is not cheap. They may only know about the local car wash that advertises a cheap "wax" but not a true correction and detail.

•Yep...
-(I’m surprised that you would post this
after your previous NO INTERIORS ‘reveal’.)
-Detailing interiors are huge money-makers.
-I’ll assume that your taking of a free
flight to Pittsburgh for a detailing session
is off the table.
Note:
Before anyone gets excited...
For the rest of my earthly life; and, in
spite of a free flight, or not; I sincerely
hope to never, ever, be anywhere near
Pittsburgh again!

I wrote that in relation to exterior detailing because I love exterior multi stage corrections but despise interiors.
But ya, after thinking about it, you're also correct in bringing it up after me saying leaving money on the table because to a certain point maybe I am but don't think it affects my current situation for I do A LOT of special interest vehicle's and have enough business for exteriors only. Customer's know my work and don't bat a eye when I tell them no interiors. They can pick up their own french fries lol.
Long story short...I get what you're saying.

My neighbor’s car is like that. It’s such a shame.

I too am new to the " new age " of detaling. In my house growing up we washed cars all year round, outside as long as it was above frezzing my dad had me out there frezzing my ass off...and what 6 year old kid wants to do that,,but.I had a great foundation and respect for taking care of your car.cut to the chase...I have been thrust into the perfect storm so to speak....I got a new vehicle worthy of my detail time....found auto geek...much less money to my name after finding this place....wheeeew....and just am recovering from shoulder surgery.I now have some knowledge of products, new techniques the physical ability to do the work and am highly motivated to learn and get better.....IT.S A BRAVE NEW WORLD !I so much appreciate Mike and his willingness to chime in and help and all the autogeek staff I just now for the first time did a 2 step correction with my Griots G-9 and G-8....SHOULD HAVE NEVER EVER WAITED THIS LONG TO MACHINE POLISH !!! ( I have heard this on the forum whenever someone has this same experience ).I am amazed at what I was able to do.Sorry to the original post....I also get propositioned to do other folk's cars.I will only do my wifes lexus CT-200 and my collection of vintage Norton commando"s.I am all in...and like others say... this stuff is all I think about ( I am up to page 2051 in old "detailing 101" think I have a problem ? ) I spend Waaay to much time reading and absorbing the knowledge. In closing this long post.I am so so grateful to the admin folks....Mike and everyone who is active and eager to help.I was going to post about my first ever machine polish and correction, now i am motivated to sit down
sorry if this was too long....I am very excited to have seen a nice measure of succses with such little experience and with all of you forum members guidance, paitience, and interest in my continuing improvement....I am well on my way !!
