These halos/swirls are mostly what I'm looking to attack. I'm just worried that I'll hit them with a light polish on a DA and burn right through like I did by hand on the test spots. That's why I'm not sure. Luckily most of what is shown is not very deep but it still will need more than just a quick wax to come out in my humble opinion... my truck I have no problems working.. this just doesn't respond well to anything I've tried and I just want to make it respectable until I can really fix it.

    Re: Specific paint issues.

Figured I would update quick... so I grew a pair and took some compound to the car.

I tried M105 in a hidden area and that was just too much... left it worse than it was so I scratched that.

I ended up going over the whole car with M205 on a lakes white polish pad with the DA running on a 5. All I can say is damn. It still has the big gouges for sure but pretty much every little swirl that bothered me is gone. I followed it up with black light on a black pad on 4 and I am very much pleased with the results.

Will I take the polish to it ever again? No. There were a couple spots in higher wear areas (corner of the hood for example where you would grab it to lift it up) where it left a somewhat dulled appearance. Not like burn through but just thin. I get the same effect on the boat where the gelcoat is almost worn... its mainly due to the base coat doing its weird thing than the clear.

But it shouldn't need a hit like that for a long time again.

Thanks for the input. I really didn't want to get that aggressive with it but I'm damn pleased.

Photos below. (Yes the hood still is an ice skating rink sadly)Thank you again. Even though it wasn't telling me exactly what to do... it motivated me to make it as best as I could.
