    New leather seat care

Hi guys. I have factory ordered a new F150 with leather seats that should arrive shortly. I've watched a lot on YouTube about leather and its care. From what I gather there is a thing film of plastic on the leather itself. What are good methods to preserve the leather and reduce wear for the long term? I plan to have the truck 15+ years. For leather care I currently have Wolfgang leather cleaner and conditioner. Product and technique advice much appreciated. Thanks!

I would suggest the colourlock products. With it being new leather shield would be what to use. As the leather ages use protector and top with leather shield.

    New leather seat care

I’ve read a-lot of good about colourlock and Guz would never steer you wrong.

I’ve used Pinnacle Black Label Leather &Vinyl coating and that stuff is great as well. Can coat pretty much entire interior with it.

This spring i will be coating interior with it and doing leather with Gyeon Leathershield.

Great info! I'll probably go with colourlock as I've hear great things about it. Do you think that it would help reduce the wear on the steering wheel. In all of my cars, that's the number one leather wear point.

All modern day cars/trucks that have leather seats are coated with a clear urethane coating. Whatever you apply to the seats will never reach the leather like in days past.

Just keep it clean. Abrasion will occur at some point and at this time a conditioner of some kind certainly will not hurt your seats.

But like clear coat a coating will protect ware on the urethane coating. Extend the life. And if leather is perforated would get in through the perforations.....

Question - with seats having this clear coating, do they still appear matte instead iof shiny when new?

Don't know yet. They will be the perforated heated and cooled seats in the new Lariat F150.
