    Door panel problem

I recently got a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Most of the vehicle is in good condition except for this area on the driver's door panel. The area is dull and has a brownish tint. Any suggestions to restore this area?

Wish I could help but I have no clue what I'm looking at in that picture.

It's the driver's door panel. The problem area is around the memory switch in the middle of the picture.

I would try an APC cleaner on a MF cloth and scrub. Next step if no impact would be to use a light brush (think toothbrush) and use the same APC or try interior cleaner (enzyme cleaner). Just wet the brush and scrub.

This method is minimize pushing any liquid into that switch zone.

It is going to be a slow process to try and fit the product to the stain. Dark plastic normally will not turn brown.

If you are talking about the dulling on the trim ring around the switch button, I agree that trim paint is probably the best solution. If you see brown, the area may be worn down far enough to expose the substrate color of the plastic. Another option is maybe you could replace that trim ring (looks like a block " O " ) for cheap ? Probably pops right out with the right pry tool.

Is that on the armrest? Looks like the top layer of the surface is wearing off and starting to discolor.

Update: I cleaned the panel with Meguiar's Interior detailer. I think it may have just been dirty and missed by the dealer when they cleaned the car for delivery. I appreciated the replies.

    Re: Door panel problem

Glad you cleared it up. It is amazing what years of grime on certain interior surfaces will look/feel like and lead us to make wrong assumptions.

When I purchased my current car a couple years ago, I was pretty sure my leather steering wheel was starting to show signs of wear despite the car only being three years old. There were areas which looked like the top coated layer was worn off.

Long story short, after repeated cleanings and proper care of the leather, the wheel looks brand new and no signs of wear at all.
