Spray coating on convertible top
Good day,
Can I use a spray coating on top of fabric convertible top?
Such as Gyeon Wetcoat?
If not, any spray coating comparable with fabric convertible top?
I have used a Raggtop cleaner and protectant and recently replaced top to new fabric.
Thanks

I've seen it done before with good results. After cleaning it properly of course! (saw one done with Adam's ceramic spray)

Re: Spray coating on convertible top
For me, the best fabric spray so far has been Gtechniq's I1 Smart Fabric (I1). I cannot find a comparison thread I did back in the summer but I first did a side by side comparison of Ragtopp to 303 Fabric Guard. I must of had a bad can of Ragtopp, as it did not repeal any water. Autogeek customer service recommended the I1 as another option.
For small amounts of rain both the 303 and I1 seemed comparable in repellency, but with significant downpours I1 works the best. I ran a hose on the top for 10 min, I1 side repelled fully, 303 side eventually started to absorb water.
Just do not overapply I1, the fabric will get a sheen to it. It did not seem like you could overapply 303 Fabric Guard; it gave a consistent deep dark look to my black top. Best of luck.

+1 on gtechnic fabric. Got almost a year. Best repellent i had for my convertible top. First 6 months water just fell off. I would recommend applying before every winter and your good.
Here’s a link to the thread I have on AG.

Thanks people. The reason I mentioned Gyeon Wetcoat is that I have left a half of the bottle and would like to use it rather spend more money for other product IF it is suitable.
If Not, I would consider to buy a coating product specialized for fabric. If Wetcoat Works good for it, I would stick with it for now.
Thanks .

I’d personally give it a shot on a canvas roof..... wouldn’t on a fabric one.
You should shoot Gyeon customer care an email.
