Re: Your GO TO tire and wheel cleaner....

LA Totally Awesome for tires, Griots Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner for wheels. Chemical Guys Sticky Citrus Wheel Cleaner is one of the most worthless products I have used.

I used to use CG's Sticky Citrus for maintence wheel cleaning and didn't have an issue but now I use it, at something like 3:1, for wheelwell cleaning as I've moved onto Brake Buster for my maintence cleanings.

I wanted to like the CG Sticky Citrus but it just did not do anything. I have used Griots and Sonax and they immediately start to work as soon as you spray them on. The Chemical Guys product did not do a thing.

Well Chemical Guys do ONE thing...marketing...and Stripoer Scent, urrrr Signature Scent.

I don't know what it is but I love the smell of Griot's Garage wheel cleaner, ofcoarse the performance. This has me putting their wheel cleaner on my list for next things to purchase, thanks for the postYour GO TO tire and wheel cleaner....

Hands down...Brown Royal non-acid wheel and tire cleaner. I’ve been using this for years and it’s is great.

Tuf shine for tire cleaner. Nothing else I've tried gets rid of browning as well. Slightly diluted APC works also. Tuf Shine seems to work a little better.

For regular cleaning I use whatever I'm washing my car with. For more deep cleaning of wheels I use Sonax or DG wheel cleaner. The DG cleaner works well and is the only one I'm aware of that removes iron without the terrible smell (they use a different chemical). And it's relatively inexpensive.

For the wheels on the wife's Boxster I clean the barrels with adhesive remover ~twice a year. I always get a surprising amount of tar off them, even if it's not visible. I discovered this when I was removing some tar blobs and realized my towel was getting dirty in areas without any visible tar.

3D Yellow degreaser works great and can be diluted to your needs. I like that it is very cost effective also.
