Road film is hard to remove, need help?

Is this road film or dried wax? So our SUV is covered in this. I removed this trim to take a pic in light and show you all. I used CG Citrus soap and even after few passes still looks greasy.

I also sprayed Meguiar’s APC 10:1 just to “experiment” and nothing.

Is this road film or dried wax?
This is what gives me trouble every time I wash and where most of swirls come from

Typically road film isn't removed during normal washings. That's where it gets it name from... It's a film, from road grime, bonded to the surface of the paint (and everything else) that builds over time. I'm not sure that's what I'm seeing but regardless these next steps are the same.

Like most every other detailing task, if the least aggressive method (washing in this case) isn't cutting it then you need a more aggressive approach. The next step in aggressiveness up the totem pole after washing would be a chemical cleaner or light polish (or an AIO).

Interesting? Thanks guys, I thought maybe I could use a wax remover or tar remover.

If the parts are clearcoated I would have absolutely no problem doing an acetone wipe. Try an alcohol wipe first.

I don’t know if the trim is clear coated. Worth a try thanks

Those would both fit the description of a "chemical cleaner" that I suggested in my previous post.

After looking again at the pics, I think I'd attack it like this...

    -Clay Bar
    -Chemical Cleaner
    -Polish (or AIO)

    Or any combination thereof.

Can someone educate me on what cleaner wax is designed to do?

I assume it adds layer of wax and also cleans, but would it work on this?
