    Anyone still using carnauba products?

    Anyone still using carnauba products?

I have a bunch of carnauba products still on my shelf, and I was wondering whether anyone still uses these routinely as their primary protection (or maybe on top of a non-ceramic sealant)? Seems like all the hype is on ceramics and graphene (which I get given the durability), which I understand don't play well with carnauba. I find some of the carnauba products easier and sometimes more fun to use as a hobbyist (no high spots or staining, super easy to apply and buff off) and leave a nice distinctive 'glow'.

Curious whether anyone uses carnauba product routinely anymore?

    Thanks!

I absolutely love carnauba wax and actually prefer it over new technology on the market such as a ceramic coating.

When I finish prepping a car prior to a ceramic coating installation, I always wish I can just slap on some carnauba wax and call it a day.

Carnauba wax is always a joy to apply. I have no plans of discontinuing the use of it at all.

I finally purchased a bottle of Collinite 845 and was pleased with the use of use. On and off just about as fast as using a spray detailer.

Fuzion on the driver, Souveran on the garage queens

After experiencing the durability of a coating it would be hard to go back to a carnuaba wax or sealants in general. Not having to carefully plan out your LSP application schedule to ensure your vehicles will be protected until it gets warm enough to detail again is not something I'll miss.

HOWEVER...If I had a fair weather/garage queen/weekend toy type of vehicle, I'd be all about a good carnauba beauty wax. I still remember applying 100 Grand Blitz Wax to my car in my early detailing days. It was very high in the carnauba content and left a glow which made you wonder if the car's paint was radioactive...even on silver! Too bad it only lasted about 8 weeks and constantly needed to be re-applied.

In fact, I tried several products when we restored the original paint on this 1937 Packard and a traditional carnauba wax was the only product that didn't dull the paint down while leaving a high gloss finish.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Does a typical carnuba product offer any real UV protection? Out here cars don't get wet very often, but it sits outside in the sun all day.
