So stupid question is, do we advise customer of paint peeling?

If he agrees we perform work?
If so how would one wash peeling paint with a hose and very gently?

Don't use a pressure washer on 20 yr. old paint and don't polish without a PG.

Question for Raurfer and anyone else, if you had a customer and the car was peeling/rust underneath and you pointed it out. How would you then proceed to wash it?

What number would you stop at to make sure your clear coat is still good?

On OEM paint that is in good condition I would say no less than 80 microns. Although OEM clear coat is thin..it takes a lot to remove a few microns.

Measure your door jam or under the hood to get an estimate of your clear coat.

That scale are in mils. I like to use microns, wider scale.
