Re: Meguiars endurance tire gel question

Glad to hear it worked well. Report back on longevity. I'll probably try it out on my next wash.

The IPA seems like a great way to make it dry to the touch but personally I am not crazy about Endurance Gel. I have used it on different occasions hoping for great results but it was mediocre. I like the glossy look but it washed off with the first rain. I am much happier with Duragloss 253.

After a week, still has a matte finish. Beads water. Looks clean but not like it did. The ipa helped it dry quickly.

Re: Meguiars endurance tire gel question

I had a bottle of this sitting in a cabinet for about 10 years, so it's what I decided to use this year when dressing my tires. Yes, I wasn't into cleaning my car for TEN YEARS.

For my color car and wheels, I wish I could make my tires piano black. I like my tires looking very greasy and shiny. The greasy shine tends to last a good week, then it sort of mattes out a bit. I get some sling from it, but really only when I goop too much between the treads, otherwise it's pretty manageable. After the initial drive remove the specks with quick detailer and after that it's pretty much good to go.

After a week are you satisfied?

Re: Meguiars endurance tire gel question

I wish I were a fan of it because I can get it stupid cheap. What I dislike most is the application is a chore using a tire foam applicator. I can do all 4 tires with Chemical Guys VRP before I can finish 2 with Megs Endurance Gel and they both look/last similar. Maybe a diluted version would work better as far as application.

Such a good point. I feel as if it takes me forever for this last step and I really just want to fly through it and get it done.

I like the LOL part of your post.

While the application of the product would work okay as thick as the person put it on it's going to be a mess.

I think people start out using the thick, oily tire dressings and then as they wash their own cars, which means at some point they have to wash the wheels and the TIRES - over time, they come to appreciate a water-based tire dressing that actually CAN BE washed off.

Then you can easily replace it.

It's about having a product and a system in place that you can repeat over and over again that's fast and easy and also creates great results.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about above,

Quick and easy tire detailing - Use a water-based all-in-one rubber & vinyl cleaner/conditioners instead of tire dressings
