Re: Left Handed Detaling
I have the same issue with my Shine Mate DA, sometimes I can use the thick part of the lowest joint on left hand index finger to squeeze the locking button in, but this doesn't work every time. Sometimes I start up right handed and switch over as I go.
Lefties Rule.
Literally!
I read somewhere that 4 of the last 6 Presidents were left handed.

Re: Left Handed Detaling
I sent an email to Griots customer service. Let's see if I get a response.

American Presidents? If so, the correct term is "Under handed".

Garfield, Hoover, Truman, Ford, Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton and Obama were all left handed.

Now I’m wondering if I’m using my DAs right handed?

Depending on which side of the truck I'm on, or the angle, I will switch my hands from left to right on the trigger/polisher head as necessary. Either way feels comfortable for me.

What brand polisher do you use Monica? Does it have a trigger switch?

Re: Left Handed Detaling
FWIW...
Conversely:
The Flex XC 3401 VRG spins counter clockwise,
(the direct opposite of most other DAs), which
some right-handed detailers do find annoyingly
counterintuitive at/upon their first deployment.

Re: Left Handed Detaling
I get it. I'm right-handed, but I have to switch hands to hit different areas of a vehicle. I've never had an issue of pressing the trigger lock with my left index finger. Put it up to practice or repetition. I'm a production painter by trade, but after my right wrist started causing me problems, I taught myself to paint left handed and have the same trigger control. Give it time and practice.

Re: Left Handed Detaling
As a lefty, you learn to work around such “handicaps”. It sometimes sucks, but what I do is start off right handed while spreading product, activate trigger lock, then switch to the left handed orientation.
