Crazy how people can be, I would never do that, don’t worry karma will get them.

Oh I'm just assuming that's what happened as I was parked in a spot where there were no parking areas on both sides of me.

I figure maybe I "cut them off" unintentionally or got ahead of them. People are quite aggressive where I live and they feel very offended if you try to pass or anything. And I also canvassed every red car in the whole complex looking for the red car with no luck.

    Wow, what state you in?
Here in Texas they’ll tail gate you to no end, really sad.

Most of San Antonio has California residents moved here. These people think the road is a NASCAR track. It’s unbelievable.

I'm actually in Eastern Canada. Us Canucks have a polite reputation but don't worry, there are jerks everywhere! Hahaha

Here in Florida we have to worry about half senile drivers who will think nothing of making jerky driving moves. I park super far away so at least I don't have to deal with them in the lot.

Wow, I’ve learned not to get brave with people at least to safe your self and car from damage.

Guys honestly sometimes I wish I could drive a best around car I didn’t mind anything happening to it.

Of course I would be paying for a car I don’t really like.

Of course you could put a film on it but removes paint if removed incorrectly.

I have this 2014 Jeep Patriot beat around car, I love I can not worry about scratches or dings.

If it cracks it’s not because of the PDR work, the paint was compromised on initial impact due to too much stretching. Leaving it there or returning it to original position would probably yield same results as far as cracking.

PDR techs will heat up the paint to allow it to move without risks. If done incorrectly then yes, there are risks.

Yeah I would imagine many factors play into it. Location, how deep it is, quality and age of the paint system, temperature etc.

I searched out an independent PDR tech with decades of experience. I figure you get what you pay for.

All the same, I still feel the need to tell him that my paint is sensitive and to watch himself so he doesn't cause scratches!

Re: Does fixing a dent damage paint in anyway?

Yeah, definitely search for the best ones and this is almost an art and not something one can master with just a bit of experience.

I had one with 25+ years of experience try removing a dent and he tried for about 20 minutes and said can’t do. There was a weld / brace inside the door right behind it and can’t push the dent out. He said maybe he could have done it if he removed the door and used a drain hole underneath it. I was not ok with that, the dent wasn’t bad enough to risk having the door removed and potentially not aligning perfectly again. He didn’t charge anything even though he spent some time trying. I tipped him $20 just for trying.

It shouldn't crack. But if your wife says it will, then she is always right. I've had PDR work done on my vehicles, and when I was in business I had PDR guy. i've seen it done dozens of time, never saw any cracking. So unless your ding is on bondo I would be concerned.
