Hi guys,

I recently purchased a car umbrella for my 1 month old SUV to protect it from tree sap, bird/bat droppings and falling fruits, basically.

I used to have a car cover but I'm not confident keeping it because of the possible scratches and many contact points of the cover touching the paint, specially when its raining. (Ruined my older car because of this).

Anyway, I knew from the start that I need to protect the paint prior to using this suction cup umbrella. I prepped the roof with Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution AIO Polish and Ceramic Spray coating.

But then, after a few weeks of rain and shine weather in the tropics i noticed "rust colored" marring coming from the suction cup. I always clean the paint and the suction prior to contact to make sure but I'm why it still mars.

Now for the detailing part, I tried to clay, DA compound and polish but no positive results, it is still there and still visible. Some say that only way is to wet sand.
