    2 step correction - 3D One x2 or 3D One + Gyeon Primer?

What do you guys think of a 2 step correction on a 2018 Nissan Rouge?

1st step - Test spot with 3D One with a 50/50 eurofiber, 2 slow passes. Take it from there.

2nd step - Finish off with 3D One or gyeon primer with a soft polishing pad or black pad.

    Hey noorth,

Here's what I would suggest because this is what I would do. Don't do two set passes and go. Do one pass at a time, wipe off after each with panel wipe and check results after each pass.

I would say do the trunk with this combo. Then try 3D One with a polishing pad on one side with the same process of one pass at a time, then do the same with gyeon primer with a soft polishing pad in the same process and then see which one you like better, which one gets you the best results, etc.

What's the paint damage look like?
    What color?

Nissan paint is pretty soft & black Nissan paint is even softer.

    Makes sense. Very practical.

    Thanks.

TO be honest, I find myself sometimes overworking a product at times when for example, two or three passes would've cut already but I ended up doing 5 to 6 because I started introducing more marring than needed with loaded up clearcoat. So now, I test spot one pass at a time. Kevin Brown test spot method.

I’d do a test spot with 3D One with a polishing pad before any of those other two combos. It might be all you need to do.

Those euro fiber pads are ok but they will leave haze on soft paint.

What polisher are you using? Post a pic of the paint too. You might be able to get away with a 1 step with Just Primer. Nissan has just a tick above "soft" paint. Using a forced oscillation/rotation unit like a Flex or so will yield stellar correction with just a polish. Yes, I use primer as a 1 step with a light cutting pad such as an orange LC Pad or Yellow Rupes pad with great results. Skip a black pad, it has no cut. Use a yellow, green, white, (colors irrelevant really) depending on the system used. Use a light cutting or polishing pad with Primer. I have lots of examples in the Show-n-Shine area.

This Firebird Firehawk got a full correction with Primer only and the paint here was Medium to hard

This BMW M5 Got a 90-95% correction with Primer and an Orange Pad
