New truck and noob to coating

    Morning fellas

So i picked up a new truck today (20' GMC Sierra) I would really like to protect it with a coating. I am leaning towards the BF line of products for the simple fact of the working time and ease on the ceramic coating as I am new to this. I had the wife car coated last year by my local Ceramic Pro dealer.... No way am i going thew that headache again,i feel i can do the job just as good as them.

I plan on buying the BF ceramic coating and care kit.
Question's is will a simple clay work or should i polish the truck? Will one bottle of BF ceramic do the truck? If so how many coats?

    Thanks all!

I'm not a coating user, but this I do know:

You will want to decontaminate the paint, wash, clay, and machine polish. (Especially if the dealer let their "detailers" touch it.)

Then, you will need to use a "panel wipe". (A product designed to chemically strip the paint of all polishing oils etc.)

There will be more detailed replies from some of our coating aficionados I am sure.

    Hold tight.........

What Paul said. I just did the BF ceramic on my F150, only one coat. It’s a lot of truck to prep n coat. One day for prep next day for coating (all done indoors except for wash)

Was one coat all you could do with one bottle?

You should be able to get 2 coats on it. I believe this comes in a 50ml bottle.

Perfect. What’s the time frame for adding a second coat?

Also can this product be applied to any other surfaces besides paint?

    Per the product page

    • If you would like to apply a second coat, you may do so immediately after the first. Allow this product to cure for 12 hours before exposure to moisture. Avoid washing your vehicle for 72 hours after application.
