    Remove wheels to coat W/ Gyeon Q2 rim?

    Hi great forum, I ordered Gyeon Q2 rim for my cars. Was thinking bout removing the wheels to get them totally clean and do the barrels. Is this overkill?
    or am I just AR? Happy New year

    Only way to do it if you want to get the inside of the wheels. So yes go for it.

    Also do two coats to increase longevity. One coat is not enough to get a year out of it from personal experience.

    I'd go so far as to say the only way to do a good job even with the facing areas and spokes is to take them off the car. Like Guz said, if you want to do the barrels, and you should, you have to take them off. Otherwise the calipers and rotors will be difficult to work around.

    Even cleaning them and prepping them for the coating will be far easier if you take them off the car.

    •IMO:
    -No, it is neither overkill or being AR;
    it’s wholly in the spirit of “Best Practices”.

    •As a heads up:
    -I highly encourage that when remounting
    the tire/wheel assemblies, that you torque
    the lugnuts to your vehicle’s specs: Yes...
    yet another one of those “Best Practices”.
