Re: Would you use these towels again?

I almost forgot the other towels.. They also look and feel pretty good, for being my door jamb towels. There turned out to be a couple of my better towels in here and they look really good.Would you use these towels again?

Re: Would you use these towels again?

I’ve read tons of on the towel debate and will hear tons for both sides. Adam’s and Griots say hot is good and thats good enough for me.

Adams even has an article about boiling the towels if the lose absorbency.

Griots microfiber wash recommends mixing with free and clear detergent as gets both dirt and grime out while removing LSP. That’s were i believe hot works best is to remove hydrophobic LSP’s

I was all together with hand rinsing eXtra dirty towels first and all has been fine. I wash on hot if i have alot of LSP towels and medium if not. To get towels fluffy and right I dry on low for 20 mins and then hang dry. All my towels even the 2 year old ones feel super soft and perform like new.

I really like the Griots detergent mixed with the free and clear. In my opinion and trials this combo out performed 3D kleen, micro restore, Mckees and free and clear detergent alone.

Coatings - Thanks for sharing! - I think I'm getting low on Microfiber cleaner (I use the Griot's too), so it's nice to know I won't be sorry getting another gallon.

FWIW, I usually do warm wash with 50/50 Griot's Microfiber cleaner and Tide Free and Clear. Then follow it with a quick wash cycle with a shot of vinegar. Dry on low.

I've got a PFM or two that seem like they've sealed up from when I was using Opti-Seal as a drying aid; Might have to try a Hot wash and see if it makes any difference.

I try some pretty crazy stuff huh? lol... But sometimes ya just gotta find out what’s really going on.Would you use these towels again?

I once tried using Megs Super Degreaser @4:1 w/ a horsehair brush to clean leather seats... That didn’t turn out so well. Luckily I used the backseat of my own 97’ Cadillac for that test, so a little dye transfer and tackiness didn’t hurt nobody.Would you use these towels again?lol.

Re: Would you use these towels again?

So, I guess to summarize, everybody has their own crazy methods of cleaning MF's and they all turn out towels that are great.

I'm thinking I'm not going to worry too much about how I clean mine.

Leave it to Ric to use a pyrometer on washer water....

    Awesome write-up, my brother.

Now that is super impressive, drying that whole sedan with just one side of a 16x16 PFM ! I usually need to use (1) 25x35 PFM + (1) 16x16 PFM to get everything dry.

Re: Would you use these towels again?

High heat wash and low dry has always worked for me and I don't plan to change however I have switched to going to the laundromat for my towels. I think the wax is messing with my pipes

Re: Would you use these towels again?

If it's only a wash or interior touch ups... I actually just go ahead and soak the towels in M37 Rinseless wash and put an ounce of that sucker into the washing machine.
I use that stuff for everything :S Towels seem to turn out pretty good, nice and soft. Smells slightly like green apple.
