    Keeping cats off truck

Does anybody know of anything that will keep the neighbors cat off your vehicles?

Sonar devices, owl statues,or something like pet no. ???

    Parking inside not an option.

    Thanks, Max

Get yourself a Jack Russell Terrier.

    Re: Keeping cats off truck

My cats also walk all over my car. Whether it’s in the garage, in the driveway, or parked on the opposite end of our property.

I’ll inevitably walk out some days and see their muddy paw prints going from the trunk lid, across the roof, and sliding off the hood.

I absolutely hate it, but there’s nothing I can seem to do to deter it.

    Re: Keeping cats off truck

I have read that there are sprays that supposedly deter cats, but not sure how effective they work and for how long, particularly outdoors?

I know cats are usually territorial, and have a small area, perhaps a block square or so where they'll roam, and commonly "Mark" their territory. When other cats are involved it can sometimes become a battle and a "spray fest".

I never tried it to know of its effectiveness, I know it stinks, and that's something like Fox Urine that Fox Trappers use to lure Fox to traps. Cats are animals that often rely on smells and scents. They might avoid an area if something smells "funny" to them?

Bob...Thanks for the reply but a lively Jack Russell Terrier might bring on a whole new set of problems.
Also not fenced in where truck is parked.

Thanks to my GOOD neighbor who carelessly feeds and lets these cats breed we have a feral cat problem.
I have trapped 13 and taken them to animal shelter that claims they don't put them down but fixes them
and find places that just want a cat for rodent control. Industrial complexes, farms, etc.

They rampaged all over my roof, sounds like herd of elephants, that I had to line my fence that butts up to house with
framing plates used to make roof trusses to keep them off roof. It worked.

Neighbor and I had falling out long ago so can't really work with him.
On plus side haven't had gopher problems in a while.

Hoping to hear from someone that has a proven method of dealing with cats on cars.

Hmmmm, try buying a car cover the soft one, the one that cover whole car. Now if they would to rip that which they might I would be upset

    I use one of these.

It was free from my local animal shelter, and is 100% effective against cats.

    Paul

A friend of mine has a pit bull that color.
Beautiful dogs. I call him the big sissy he is so mild mannered.
Around people anyway, cats maybe not so much.

    Re: Keeping cats off truck

I once had a problem with my dog putting his paws (and claws!) up on the fenders during the night. Think he just wanted to see what was inside. Anyway after he had destroyed my fenders I hooked up a seperate car battery to the cars' frame. That night i was spying and sure enough he did his thing except this time there was a loud POP! followed by the terrified yelps of my dog as he tore out of the carport at full throttle! I had never seen him move so fast before. Well it took 2 -3 nights of this but it DID break him of jumping up on cars! Kinda felt bad after cuz i loved my dog but it worked LOL! Although I doubt a cat would touch the car and the ground at the same time like a big dog would.
