    Re: Keeping cats off truck

There are these things I bought at Amazon that come in sheets for furniture. One side has adhesive to help it stick to the furniture before putting the buttons in. Perhaps put these on the car upside down held in place with magnets so the sticky side is up. We have 5 cats, and they hate things sticking to their paws. It's outside the box, but might work.

We have a feral cat problem too, so I feel your pain. Luckily ours only go under the vehicles and not on them. I don’t know how effective they would be, but maybe some battery operated motion actuated lights or sirens set on your vehicle? May only take a little while to train the cats to stay off.

    Re: Keeping cats off truck

1 of my cats does this if I take too long to exit the car when I get home... Sometimes she’ll do it because she thinks it’s cool, but 90% of the time it’s because I didn’t open the door to greet her in time.

The good news is she’s harmless. No claws during all this. But the last thing you wanna do is startle a cat because then the claws come out, so it’s best just to ignore it.

Something you might wanna try that according to Mexicans old wives tales works is filling up 1 gallon jugs with bleach. Mexicans are known to do this to keep cats away. My own mother has a jug of bleach on top of the wall in her backyard. Been there for years. And heck I’ve never seen a cat come walking from that direction so ya never know. Lol.

Maybe place jugs of bleach in around your car. But refill milk gallons, that way the bleach smell permeates out of the jug and irritates the cats sensitive nose... You know a cats scent is 13 times stronger than dogs? Bleach em! Lol

    LOL, I love it.
By far the best remedy but don't want to go to jail over a cat.
Gonna try some vinegar, bleach and citrus concoctions like Eldo 2k suggested.

    Re: Keeping cats off truck

Truthfully, I gave up the fight a long time ago. I just have stupid little paw marks scratched into my paint from them jumping up and inevitably sliding off.

My solution will be to not have cats moving forward once the ones we have “expire.”

I live in an area with houses spread out enough that I at least don’t have to worry about my neighbors.

    Re: Keeping cats off truck

Thought I'd do a follow up on the cat situation.

A Google search came up with citrus concoctions and vinegar.
    Eldo2k families remedy was bleach.
So I came home from Dollar Tree with lemon scented bleach.

Made 2 bottles by pouring half into a milk jug and making 1:1ratio's with water.
Drilled holes in upper part of bottles for leaching purposes and placed each bottle in front of a headlight.

Happy to say I haven't seen a paw print in seven days now.
Usually would be about 4 times a week.

I think I got those sons of bleaches on the run.
