Which Clay Mitt?
Good Morning. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. I've just recently gotten into detailing, and am looking to step up my game a bit with a clay mitt to replace the clay bar. I see several different ones in the store:
Blackfire
Nanoskin
Cobra
Speed Master
Looking for a recommendation or a comparison between the different mitts. I'm looking for a mitt to do lighter decontamination when not doing correction/polish afterwards. More of a maintenance item.
Thanks in advance.

I can only speak to the nanoskin. Works great. Maybe search some of the others for reviews or comments

For those who need to save money, mitts are sold on ebay from China for<$15. They work.

Black Infiniti G37
White Honda Pilot
and Black BMW 328
those are the 3 cars I’d be using the mitt for.

Re: Which Clay Mitt?
Your Honda will have soft paint (generally speaking) which will marre easier than the bmw that has a lot more stout paint compared to the Honda...I’m not sure on the infinity.
For maintenance purposes, I’d probably go for any of the brands but make sure you get the Fine mitt, not the standard grade as the standard grade will marre easier than the Fine.
You’ll also find that it will take more work with the Fine grade which can lead to marring the paint....unless your very careful, used lots of lube.
Given the Honda is white it would be a lot less noticeable than any of the black vehicles which in the sun and the right angle you would see it pretty clearly.
Again, be very careful and use lots of lube.
I have a black Acura and my wife has a white BMW X3, i use the nano fine grade on both, I have to be very careful with my car but I can be a lot more aggressive with hers.

Mike Phillips--Any thoughts / comparisons on the clay mitts I mentioned?

Re: Which Clay Mitt?
I can only speak to Nanoskin, but I have used the sponges, mitt, and DA synthetic clay pads from them. All are top notch and perform very well. Of all of them, I use the mitt the most during washes. But the DA pad got some IMPOSSIBLE tar off the hood of my mother's Lincoln. I have the velcro pad with the hand strap and will probably use the pads as a wash mitt with it when my mitt wears out.
