So incorrectly washed MF towels can actually cause scratches. Hope that helps.
This is key. Fabric softener will ruin MF products, and is in fact not very good for many types of fabric.

It can also wreak havoc on some types of washing machines.

Most are petroleum-based, contain animal fats, and can actually promote mold growth within the washer.

Remember to use a light touch on anything that will scratch. Also, a damp towel is less likely to scratch than a dry one.

You could also consider using a fine duster (or fine brush) with an air blowing source to remove most of the dust prior to cleaning.

Yea, man I been trying to learn so many aspects I honestly need to slow the way down. I ended up scratching my interior chrome trim on our 2018 Durango and I’m so mad at myself. I know it’s not a big deal but that’s a mistake I can’t keep on doing. The damp towel thing works but I was using it dry-unacceptable on my part.

Some things I want to share from experience as far as interiors:

1: spend money on quality towels even for interior. I use Rag company towels for interior work. There are many other quality towels. One thing I learned is that certain interior parts can be super sensitive. My interior towels are of a “delicate paint safe” quality.

2: spend money and get some quality brushes. I like the wheel woolies 1 and 1 1/4 inch brushes.

3: always spray on a towel or applicator then clean or dress. Don’t spray directly on the surface.

one of my favorite products from mckees is their fast interior detailer. It's safe for screens and gauges. It's not an aggressive cleaner but also has some uv protection that's not too much for those surfaces. Does great for for smudges and fingerprints.

edit, I also use it for the whole interior when it's not overly dirty and doesn't need a major clean. Nice fresh clean.

If you're trying to be a professional you should be buying the best towels you can get your hands on not buying them at Costco or the auto parts store.
