    Swirl light

    Hello all

looking for advise on a swirl finder light I am looking for a jack of a trades. Something portable and shows me everything I can use as a work light and hand held that has decent battery life. Just work on my own and friends vehicles so on a smallish budget $200. I am looking at scan grips sunmatch 3 and multi match r but can’t find anything that really puts them head to head any advise would be great thanks

Multimatch R is fantastic but if you can find, get the Gyeon Prism Plus which is the same light but it has built in Bluetooth and 2 diffusers for the lens that are great for coatings. I believe they cost the same but the Gyeon is hard to find in stock.

I hate to sound snarky, but it’s called a flashlight. The marketing department would like you to think this some magic devise that only it can reveal imperfections but it’s not, it’s a simple flash light. If your outside during the day just use the sun.

I have a Bauer color match light from Harbor Freight that I think does a great job.

If you’re going to get into coatings then get the Gyeon Prism Plus.

Used it again today and the diffuser is great for coatings.

    Re: Swirl light

Just started using a Scangrip Sunmatch 3. I was skeptical that it was going to be much better than a small high powered led flashlight that I have been using for inspection (I’m really pretty new as a DIY detailer). The diffuse and bright lighting makes it much better than the flashlight for the intended purpose. It’s almost too good. I notice every flaw in my work and the finish.

It’s an Audi with Mythos Black Metallic finish. This is the first non silver metallic car I’ve owned in 20 years. When its looking good, it’s real good but it shows everything and the Sunmatch makes sure I see what nobody else does...

A swirl light—when good enough is not good enough.

I use my Milwaukee 12v LED work light. It will show everything, plus works with my other tools.

Try bending that sun beam to see the vertical panels.
