Porter Cable Issue
Fellow worker has the polisher for about 6 years and its beginning to cause him some problems. Its grinding, like a wrench thrown in a turbine (not my words) runs slow than eventually kicks in to the setting speed.
Has anyone experienced this? If yes, have a solution?
Thanks,
Howard

I would have to take it apart and look inside to say for sure.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Re: Porter Cable Issue
Sounds like a bearing issue to me. The noise is one clue. And the fact that it will start out slow but eventually get up to speed is another clue ... heat built up from friction eventually "frees" up the bearing(s).
Turn the output shaft by hand. If it feels "gritty" or there is "slop"/"play" in it, you've got a bearing problem.
