There’s numerous ways to kill an aged sealant. If you have any IPA or paint stripper, that should do the trick along with claying. Or alone should remove it. There’s also alkaline prep soaps, paint cleaners, etc., but I assume you don’t have these. A polish itself could be used as a paint cleaner simply by quickly spreading over the car with minimal working it in.

I’m telling you way too much for the sake of info. Just clay thoroughly and if you don’t have IPA maybe you want to consider it as it will make the surface free of oils and stuff that will impact your Hydro Blue or other SiO2 products you want to use after. Or get Klean Strip Prep-All as an IPA substitute. Others here can let you know a good IPA ratio if you go that route.

Thanks I appreciate it. Great post.

I did read, on here I believe, that IPA doesn't work that well stripping sealants. Thoughts on that? If so, I can try the other things you mentioned.

Given this is an aged sealant and you will be claying, I consider it will only add insurance to your mission. The combo should have no issue removing it. IPA by itself on an aged sealant is kind of 50/50 IMO.

If you were to go with Prep-All as your panel wipe, I believe it would wipe out the remaining 360 on its own. Maybe not brand new 360, but months old, it should.

Apex recommened 12% of 91% IPA in a 32oz bottle. So about 4oz.

Yeah, sorry... I haven’t used IPA in years and do t remember a good dilution. Was hoping others might chime in, but maybe you already found it now.

I decided to use TW Ice Spray Wax on top. They improved the formulation and it appears to work extremely well. TW must have a good chemist right now.

    Update 07/21/2020 (2 months, 1 week):

Pic taken after heavy rain. Please note that the rear spoiler panel has been disqualified as I accidentally touched it during a drying aid session (more details below). Luckily I caught myself and stopped immediately. The roof from rear of moonroof down to the spoiler still remains only 360 from 05/14/2020.

For the heck of it, here’s comparison between the 360 panel (background) and the spoiler panel where I accidentally dried with a BF SiO2 Spray Sealant infected towel (front/bottom of pics).

It’s a little hard to tell but the spoiler panel beads are taller, the 360 beads are flatter. The spoiler panel did not get a full blast of BF SiO2, but the towel was “wet” enough to leave some behind.
