    Tire shine for knobbys

    Hey all,

What tire shine product do you suggest for tires that are not friendly to applicators and will NOT turn tires brown after use. I need an aerosol application. I love Optimum tire shine but that's a product used with an applicator. That's great for my SUV with highway tires, just doesn't work for the truck tires.

    Thanks in advance!

    Joe

Use a brush to apply it.

That is what I do on my wife's Nitto Grapplers on her Wrangler.

It takes a little practice to not over-apply it, but you'll get the hang of it quickly.

Griot's Garage aerosol tire products will spray on nicely but then using the brush will work it out in all those lugs.

Griot's Garage Black Satin Tire Coating

Then you can also use the Optimum spray head on your air line or even use similar with paint spray units.

But most all types can be done with a brush or foam brush.

Yeah, the Griot's aerosol products are pretty good.

I have 35" knobby tires and when I take the time to deep clean them with a drill brush, I take the time to apply McKees 37 SiO2 Tire Shine with a foam applicator. I don't know why, but I have GREAT luck with this product. Lasts a couple months.

On my Jeep TJ with 33's I'd just use 303 protectant when I wanted them to look decent. Spray it on, give it a lil wipe and use a brush quick, then another quick wipe so it wasn't to shiny.

This should work well to get into the grooves. I use it to work in everywhere and then use a foam applicator or MF to level out

Seconded. I have wild peaks and use these brushes. I don't use a "shiny" tire product but it does help even out application.
