    How to Polish Glass

I have look videos in youtube, search here and other pages and everybody have a different way to do it.

Some places says to use Ceriglass and Carpro or Griots Rayon pads but other people say that if you go that route will have to follow up with a mild polish and a foam pad to take out the haze.

Other people just use regular compound and a microfiber pad or even a compound foam pad.

What is the correct way to do it step by step if I want to correct scratches or if I want to correct water spots?
Is the same procedure or 2 different ones?

    Thanks

You will need to be more aggressive to correct scratches than water spots.

Never had to do a final polish when using Ceriglass and a rayon pad.

Using a rotary to polish glass is faster rather than a dual action.

Glass polishing is a tedious job and did I mention messy.

    The dusting is horrendous.

You need to keep Ceriglass damp..when you pick up the water spray on the glass it will splatter especially with a rotary.

So I keep the glass damp or wet?
And this is to reduce the chance of create scratches?

I saw a video from Pan The Organizer and another one from Apex Detail and neither of them used water.

Ceriglass needs to be in a slurry state and not dried out.

Yes CP ceriglass says to keep wet. In that state it tends to sling due to the curve of glass and your polisher contact sefice being flat.

When I went to griots they recommended using a 3” pad....slings less.

If just light scratches and waterspots griots fine glass polish worked well for me.... didnt need to bust out the Ceri glass.

It is also made with cerium oxide and no need to spray with water

Interesting, I thought the Griots one had the same amoun of Cerum Oxide than the Carpro one, so the Griots is more like a happy medium.

Just to chime in, I've used both brand of glass polish. I've never used Griot's to remove scratches, only CarPro Ceriglas. I am under the impression that the Griot's product does NOT contain Cerium Oxide and is not really for removing sub-surface scratches or other defects in glass.

    I've polished boatloads of glass.

    For what it's worth...
